Magpies belong to the bird family Corvidae, a group that includes crows, ravens, rooks, jackdaws and jays. Considered an intelligent bird, it is said that magpies have the remarkable ability to recognize their own reflections in mirrors.
The Question remains… are Magpies actually “thieves” who tend to steal shiny objects? Or were the shiny objects left in the fields to deter the magpies from digging up grains, berries and insects, which is their natural diet?
